September 2026
September is one of the most interesting months to visit the Riviera dei Cedri. The sea is still part of the experience, while some of the area's most important annual events take place during the first half of the month.
1–8 September 2026
San Sosti · Sanctuary of Our Lady of Pettoruto
The main September celebrations take place at the mountain sanctuary above San Sosti. The programme traditionally includes the Crowning of the Virgin on 5 September, the solemn feast on 7 September and the anniversary of the dedication of the Basilica on 8 September.
9–13 September 2026
Diamante
Five days dedicated to chilli peppers, Calabrian food, performances, exhibitions and cultural events throughout Diamante.
It is one of the best-known events on the Riviera dei Cedri and an excellent reason to spend several days exploring the coast.

Sangineto · Vuglio Waterfall
A project dedicated to the Vuglio Waterfall and to the natural and cultural heritage of Sangineto. It offers an opportunity to discover the area beyond its beaches.

October brings a slower rhythm to the coast. Traditional celebrations, historic centres and inland landscapes become a larger part of the experience.

Belvedere Marittimo
Belvedere Marittimo traditionally celebrates its patron saint, San Daniele Fasanella, during the second half of October.
The celebrations are linked to the historic Fiera del Lago, one of the town's long-standing traditions.

Sangineto
The project dedicated to the Vuglio Waterfall continues into October, offering another reason to visit Sangineto outside the traditional summer season.
A little-known local story
Part of the relics traditionally attributed to Saint Valentine are kept at the Capuchin Convent of San Daniele in Belvedere Marittimo.
The town's celebrations dedicated to Saint Valentine have also helped create a symbolic connection between Belvedere Marittimo and Terni.
It is an unusual cultural stop to include in an itinerary between Belvedere, Sangineto and Diamante.
November 2026
By November the coast becomes quieter. The focus moves towards historic villages, local food, chestnut season, the Calabrian hinterland and longer, slower stays.
